RS to charge Croats, Bosniaks with war crimes

The Doboj District Prosecution is to raise an indictment over crimes committed against Serbs from Derventa in 1992. According to reports, the indictment is due to be raised against 100 suspects of Croat and Bosniak ethnicity. Republic of Srpska (RS) media state that eight indictments could be brought at the beginning of next month against Ivica Petkovic, Vinko Begic, Ivan Duspara, Ivan Culjak, Sulejman Alijagic and Ika Stanic. RS to charge Croats, Bosniaks with war crimes “These individuals are the most responsible for forming five camps in Derventa through which 300 Serb civilians passed, including quite a lot of women, children, and old people,” said Drago Knezevic, president of the Association of Prisoners-of-War from Derventa Municipality. Knezevic said that a large number of Serb camp inmates had been exposed to the most brutal treatment and that many of them had died of torture and starvation before the eyes of the remaining prisoners. The Association has voiced its satisfaction with the fact that charges will soon be brought against Croats and Bosniaks for war crimes against Serbs for which no-one has as yet been brought to account for.
