The Muslim-Croat entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina is today marking the Statehood Day. The day chosen relates to November 25, 1943, when a war-time Communist organization, ZAVNOBIH, declared Bosnia's statehood in a session held in Mrkonjic Grad, the Federation officials say. Bosnia: Federation marks Statehood Day Four days later, another session held in another Bosnian town, Jajce, made Bosnia one of the six republics of what was at that time known as the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia (FNRJ). Muslim member of the Bosnian presidency Haris Silajdzic and a delegation of the city of Sarajevo today laid flowers at appropriate monuments. Meanwhile, the Republic of Srpska (RS), the Bosnian Serb entity of the post-Dayton Bosnia, does not mark the day, since there is no law on national holidays that applies to the whole territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
