Belgrade City Assembly elects new mayor
The City Assembly of Belgrade has voted to elect Zoran Radojicic as the new mayor of the Serbian capital.

Belgrade City Assembly elects new mayor
67 out of 110 councilors voted on Thursday to elect Radojici, and Goran Vesic, who until now served as city manager, as his deputy.The debate that preceded the secret vote lasted four hours.
In his address, Radojicic said it was his "dream for the Serbian capital to become a true modern European capital in next four years," and that he "expects his team to work hard and produce results."
"The new authorities plan to pick up where the previous ones left off," he said.
On the other hand, the opposition Alliance for Serbia criticized Radojicic for "accepting to act as a screen for the bad policy of the SNS, and for agreeing to the disastrous policy of continuity."
Ahead of the start of the City Assembly meeting today, several dozen citizens gathered in front of the building to, as they said, "support the new mayor."
