New KFOR commander takes over

His predecessor, General Salvatore Farina, turned over the commanding duties to Figliuolo.

The ceremony was held at the KFOR base in Film City, and Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga thanked Farina for his work at the head of KFOR, Tanjug reported.

Beta is reporting that commander of NATO's Allied Joint Force Command in Naples Mark Ferguson stated that members of KFOR will continue to maintain the peaceful and safe environment for all citizens of Kosovo.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ferguson said that a lot of progress was made in Kosovo in the political sense over the past year, and that they are witnessing positive trends taking place at a critical time.

Ferguson further said that KFOR members have succeeded in accomplishing significant results under the command of Farina.
