BELGRADE Serbia cannot accept that ballot papers for November local elections in Kosovo contain any symbols of "the state of Kosovo," said Ivica Dacic. But perhaps we can agree that they contain the logo of the Central Election Commission of Kosovo, the Serbian prime minister then noted. "Ballots could have election commission's logo" "It is unacceptable for Serbia to have any state symbols of "the state of Kosovo" on the ballot paper, as this undermines the elections' status neutrality and it is not the practice anywhere in the world," Dacic told Tuesday's edition of Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti. Advisor to the Serbian president Marko Djuric also said that such a solution would be unacceptable for Belgrade. "Ballot papers can only contain names of lists, candidates and perhaps symbols of the election commission. We expect that the EU and the international community will make the effort and provide status neutrality of the elections, as envisaged by the Brussels agreement (between Belgrade and Pristina)," Djuric told the daily.
