New Serbia (NS) leader Velimir Ilic says the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS)-led coalition could form the government with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS). “We will certainly talk to (SPS leader Ivica) Dacic,” he told daily Press. SNS-led coalition “could form govt. with Socialists” When asked whether it was realistic to expect that the Democratic Party (DS) and the SNS would form the government, he said that he did not believe it was possible. “That’s completely impossible in my opinion, because when (SNS leader Tomislav) Nikolic and I first formed the coalition we agreed that it was out of the question,“ Ilic was quoted as saying. He stressed that parties that wanted to be partners of the SNS-led coalition “must not hinder economic processes”. “This is why all citizens should vote for our list because only we guarantee real changes, 100 percent,” the NS leader explained. Commenting on Vojislav Kostunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) as a possible partner, he said that “if someone agrees with our program we sure can accept them as a coalition partner”. Ilic stressed that he would never form a government with United Regions of Serbia (URS) leader Mladjan Dinkic and added that “any combination with the URS would be destined to fail”.
