Chief Hague Prosecutor Serge Brammertz was in Belgrade on Monday and once again asked why Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic were still at large. Some analysts believe that Brammertz was warning Serbia's authorities. "Serbian authorities warned over fugitives" He met with War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic, who told B92 that he expected a positive report come December. Brammertz also met with Serbian President Boris Tadic, who, according to a statement from his office, conveyed that Serbia will do everything to find, arrest and extradite the remaining two Hague fugitives. Brammertz's claim that Ratko Mladic was hiding in Serbia, represents a warning for the authorities in Belgrade that the search is lasting too long, says military analyst Ljubodrag Stojadinovic. "Our services and the state have had enough time to finish this job and obvious that within the state itself, not institutions of the system, but its elements that still have enough power to consider its patriotic to keep Mladic out of the Hague, it's possible to prevent his arrest," said Stojadinovic, and added: "The point is in the fact that people who are holding the key positions are obviously, for some reason, unable to finish this job. And that is the message that stresses more decisiveness and skepticism related to the Serbian authorities, that they truly do not know where Mladic is." Serge Brammertz (Beta, file)
