Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic is paying a visit to Morocco on Thursday, where he will take part in the MEDays 2010: The Southern Forum. The forum is taking place in Tangier from November 10-13, and is dedicated to cooperation between the countries of Africa, Latin America and Asia. It is organized by Amadeus Institute from Morocco, with the help of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). FM travels to Morocco and New York Jeremic arrived in Morocco from Strasbourg, where he took part in the session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. After Morocco, he is traveling to New York, where he will attend the UN Security Council session on Kosovo-Metohija. On Friday, the UN Security Council will hold a session to discuss the situation in Kosovo at which Serbia's stands will be presented by Jeremic, Tanjug learned at the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The report by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will be presented at the session, which will also be attended by Head of UNMIK Lamberto Zannier, it was confirmed to Tanjug at the UN mission headquarters in Pristina. As Tanjug learned, in his report Ban welcomed the announcements of a dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and reaffirmed “the readiness of the United Nations to contribute to these efforts in close coordination with the European Union.“ “I welcome the resolution adopted by the General Assembly on September 9 and the readiness of the European Union to facilitate a process of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade. I am pleased that the text of the resolution adopted was based on agreement between Serbia and the European Union, thus creating the conditions for this process to move forward in the context of the European perspective for the region,“ the report reads. Ban estimated that “the situation in northern Kosovo has remained unstable, and tensions have grown in the aftermath of the ICJ advisory opinion.“ Underlining that “the ICJ advisory opinion was met with disbelief among the Kosovo Serb community in the north,“ Ban urged “the sides to exercise restraint and adopt a measured, constructive approach in order to avoid further escalations in northern Kosovo.“ A file photo of Vuk Jeremic at the UNSC (Tanjug)

FM travels to Morocco and New York

Jeremić arrived in Morocco from Strasbourg, where he took part in the session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. After Morocco, he is traveling to New York, where he will attend the UN Security Council session on Kosovo-Metohija.
