Kosovo Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni said that Serbia’s calls for new negotiations on Kosovo’s status are calls for unrest and destabilization. He told Voice of America that Serbia’s insistence on new talks is destructive. “Serbia’s calls for talks destructive” Hyseni said that Kosovo is open to talks with Serbia, but only as two independence states. “All calls for new negotiations on Kosovo’s status are calls for unrest and instability, an that is the essence of Serbia’s resolution which it will present before the United Nations,” Hyseni said. He added that “Pristina is against any kind of idea of partitioning Kosovo or drafting new borders.” Hyseni is currently in New York, where he has been meeting with various officials of UN member-states over the last several days. “Dozens of countries have promised us that they would be recognizing Kosovo soon,” Hyseni said, adding that he “did not receive signs that the five remaining countries of the EU that have not recognized Kosovo would be doing so.” Hyseni would be meeting on Monday with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and would be submitting a demand for participating in the UN Security Council meeting on Kosovo, which according to reports, would be held on August 3.
