PM Mirko Cvetkovic believes that Serbia is "slowly but surely" moving toward economic recovery. "The government's main priority in the coming period will be to create jobs and increase the standard of living, but the realization of that goal is not possible without unity of all social partners," he told a gathering in Belgrade on Wednesday. Premier says economy is "recovering" Cvetkovic supported his claim about the gradual economic recovery by quoting Q1 industrial production and export figures, which showed growth. According to the premier, his cabinet is ready to take on the obligation of improving the structure of the country's economy by orienting it toward exports, ensuring lower public spending in the GDP, decreasing fiscal duties on income, and continued public sector reforms. "Unions have shown a high degree of understanding in the past and we expect this constructive approach to continue as we are recovering from the crisis," noted Cvetkovic. The government, unions and employers have agreed on a series of measures, and decided to form a temporary working group that would deal with the economic crisis, the conference heard. The government also obligated itself to lower public spending by one to two percentage points per year, and work on improving the fiscal climate. The meeting today was also attended by ministers Diana Dragutinovic, Oliver Dulic, Rasim Ljajic, Slobodan Milosavljevic, and exiting NBS Governor Radovan Jelasic. Members of the business community, including East Point owner Zoran Drakulic, Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic, Milan Beko, Miodrag Kostic, Hemofarm's Miodrag Babic, and others, also took part. Cvetković supported his claim about the gradual economic recovery by quoting Q1 industrial production and export figures, which showed growth.

According to the premier, his cabinet is ready to take on the obligation of improving the structure of the country's economy by orienting it toward exports, ensuring lower public spending in the GDP, decreasing fiscal duties on income, and continued public sector reforms.
