FM praises Serbs in Romania

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic visited Romania yesterday where he held meetings with his Romanian and Hungarian counterparts. He also visited ethnic Serbs in the town of Timisoara, and said the manner in which they were organized could serve as an example to diaspora Serbs everywhere. FM praises Serbs in Romania After meeting with their leaders, Jeremic said what made him most satisfied was to witness their unity. He also said that Serbs in Romania are an exceptionally vital and well organized community. Jeremic stressed that they are loyal Romanian citizens, at the same loyal members of the Serb nation, and as such represent a bridge between the two neighboring countries. "The relations between our countries are excellent, Romania is our friend and one of our closest allies in the Balkans. The ties are such also because of the way Serbs in Romania organize themselves, and because of the way the Romanian community lives and works in Serbia," Jeremic was quoted as saying.
