Serbia, India look to improve cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic met Monday in Belgrade with State Secretary at the Indian MFA Anand Sharma. The two officials discussed improving cooperation in the secotrs of economy, defense and high technologies, the government said on its website. Serbia, India look to improve cooperation Djelic told a news conference after the meeting that representatives of the two delegations agreed that Serbia's debt to India in the amount of USD 10.6mn will be paid off through the defense sector. The news conference was also attended by Indjija mayor Goran Jesic. Djelic told reporters that an agreement was reached with Indian companies on the construction of an IT park in Indjija, spanning some 200 hectares. Sharma said that Serbia and India can have "a profitable partnership", adding that the two countries have great potential for strengthening cooperation.
