Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic has arrived in Lisbon at the invitation of the Portuguese foreign minister. Portugal is currently chairing the European Union, and its presidency term will come to an end on December 31. Djelic on two-day visit to Portugal Djelic is expected to meet with Portuguese Foreign Minister Louis Amado, Economy and Innovation Minister Manuel Pinho, State Secretary in charge of visa regime liberalization Jose Magalles, and Finance Minister Fernando Teixeira dos Santos. The deputy prime minister will address the Portuguese parliament’s European Affairs Committee and give a lecture on the topic of Serbia and its European integration. He will also hold a working meeting with representatives of Portugal’s leading companies to promote the potential benefits of investing in Serbia. Meanwhile, the president’s office released a statement saying that Boris Tadic will be traveling to Portugal on Wednesday in order to discuss Serbia’s European integration and the Kosovo issue with Portuguese officials. He will thus talk to Portuguese President Aníbal Cavaco Silva and Parliamentary Speaker Jaime Gama. Tadic is also expected to attend the Group A European Football Championships qualifier between Serbia and Portugal. Wednesday, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica will meet with European Union officials in Brussels, the government media office said today. Kostunica will meet with EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and EU High Representative for the CFSP Javier Solana. Kostunica will also meet European Parliament President Hans Gert Petering, a statement said.
