Koštunica meets with Russian airline director

He said that the company is “welcomed” to participate in the competition for becoming Jat's strategic partner. According to a statement from Koštunica's cabinet, Okulov confirmed Aeroflot's interest in Jat Airways.

Koštunica said that the government has begun the procedures for naming a privatization advisor for Jat, who will propose the privatization strategy.

Joining Koštunica in the discussions with Okulov where Infrastructure Minister Velimir Ilić and Economic and Regional Development Minister Mlađan Dinkić, along with Russian ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Alekseyev.

Officials from Jat and Aeroflot signed a contract in May regarding partnership intentions, and the Russian company stated earlier that it wanted to buy Jat, take all of its employees, pay back the company's debts and invest in new aircrafts.
