Consultations continue on July 19
Samardžić told Tanjug news agency Saturday he would hold additional consultations with the opposition next week.“Following these meetings, the final draft will be presented to the Parliament at the July 24 session, even if the opposition's remarks of are not adopted in their entirety,” he said.
According to Samardžić, the ruling coalition parties reached a consensus about the text, and it remains to be seen whether the final draft of the document could satisfy the opposition as well.
“It is not possible that all lawmakers in the Parliament vote in favor of the resolution. Nonetheless, we have given a chance to those who oppose the text to present their views, which will be taken into consideration,” he said.
Samardžić also said that all the opposition parties, barring the Liberals and the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, pledged their support for the resolution, while Riza Halimi, of the Coalition of Preševo Valley Albanians said they would make the decision next week.
