Horgoš-Požega highway contract moot?

Vojvodina Assembly president Bojan Kostreš had said earlier he would call on the Serbian government to annul the contract as he considered it detrimental to Vojvodina’s interests.

Even though Serbia’s commissioner for public information Rodoljub Šabić filed an injunction with the capital investments and finance ministry to grant access to the Contract at Kostreš’s request, former capital investments minister Velimir Ilić said he could not oblige such demands, as the government was authorized to decide on the availability of the contract.

Ilić told the Novi Sad daily Dnevnik he would step down as minister of infrastructure if the  new government disputed the Horgoš-Požega Concession deal.

The previous government signed the concession contract to build and maintain the Horgoš-Požega highway with the Spanish-Austrian consortium FCC – Alpina Mayreder in Belgrade on March 30.
