"Serbia needs new government"

Petrović was quoted as saying that  “DS wants to come to a precise understanding with its future cabinet partners about making efforts to approach the EU. Serbia needs a stable government with the capacity to lead the country towards Europe, upgrade standards of living, and advocate the territorial integrity of Serbia”.

“ A clear agreement on the future affairs of the Serbian government constitutes 80 percent of the final deal that coalition partners have to finalize” , Petrović added.

He said that the DS insisted on a strong democratic government, stressing DS intentions to assume responsibility in line with the will of the Serbian people that was clearly stated in the January elections.

Petrović added that Serbian President Boris Tadić would also propose a PM candidate to the Serbian Parliament that he deemed was able to garner the support of 126 parliamentary deputies.

“In my opinion, our candidate Božidar Đelić is the best man for the job”, Petrović concluded.
