Delta enters Croatian meat industry

Croatia’s Konzum and Delta M are set to merge this year with an equal share of capital. Besides, Delta and Agrokor are building an EUR 12mn coffee plant in the northern Serbian town of Nova Pazova.

The construction works are expected to complete in the first quarter of 2008, while Delta expects the joint undertaking to occupy 20 percent of the regional coffee market.

Business.hr has learned from its Delta sources that the company was also interested in building a shopping mall in Zagreb, as well as in investing in the Croatian food processing industry.

Delta Holding’s plans include EUR 1.5bn net sales income in 2007, EUR 409mn worth of investments and creation of 2,000 new jobs. As for Delta’s Slovenian operations, the company has announced it would attempt to realize a planned acquisition in the foodstuffs industry sector, through a third company.
