BELGRADE The Second-Degree council of the Court of Appeals on Friday in Belgrade overturned a verdict that jailed Mladen Obradovic, leader of the Obraz organization. Obradovic was sent to prison for two years for causing unrest during the gay parade in Belgrade in 2010. Court of Appeals sends right-wing activist's case to retrial The Court of Appeals decided to send the case to retrial over significant violations of criminal investigations procedures in the original trial before the Higher Court in Belgrade, that ended with a guilty verdict in April 2011. In November 2012, the same court overturned another verdict against Obradovic, that had sent him to jail for ten months for committing acts of racial and other discrimination. The court said that it accepted the appeals lodged by the defense of Obradovic and other persons accused in this case for significant violations of criminal investigations procedures, and noted that the first-degree verdict was "unintelligible", while its explanation did not provide clear reasons related to the decisive facts behind it. Obradovic and 14 other members of his right-wing group were found guilty and sent to jail - all except him to terms ranging from six months to one year. The Court of Appeals decided to send the case to retrial over significant violations of criminal investigations procedures in the original trial before the Higher Court in Belgrade, that ended with a guilty verdict in April 2011.

In November 2012, the same court overturned another verdict against Obradović, that had sent him to jail for ten months for committing acts of racial and other discrimination.
