Serbia sent Friday its formal request to the U.S. for the extradition of Peter Egner, Justice Minister Snezana Malovic told Tanjug. Egner, a naturalized American citizen, is suspected of serving in a Nazi unit that killed around 17,000 Jewish and other civilians during World War II. State Secretary with the Serbian Justice Ministry Slobodan Homen told Tanjug on Thursday that talks on an extradition agreement between Serbia and the U.S. had finished Wednesday and that it would be signed in the near future. He specified that the agreement would allow the extradition of Serbian and U.S. citizens charged with all crimes, without limitations. Malović expressed hope that the U.S. would meet Serbia's request.
