Three powerful explosions shook the northern Kosovo Mitrovica district of Bosnjacka Mahala last night, confirmed regional police spokesman Besim Hoti. The explosions were heard between 22:00 CET last night and 02:00 CET morning. Three explosions in northern KM The Kosovo Police Service said that the first explosion had been caused by a butane canister going off in the garage of a recently condemned building, the so-called "trade union building". At 01:30, two further blasts were heard coming from the vicinity of a partially-built tower block not far from the eastern bridge in Bosnjacka Mahala, housing some of the former residents of the "trade union building". The spokesman added that these explosions had most likely been caused by hand grenades, though he could not say whether the buildings had been the target of the attack. The Kosovo Police Service still has no clue as to the identity of the culprits. The northern police service’s investigative unit is working on the case. This is the first such incident since January, when 15 people were injured in a series of incidents that took place in northern Kosovska Mitrovica.
