Former JP Putevi Srbije (Roads of Serbia) public company director Branko Jocic has been indicted by the Third Belgrade Public Prosecution Office. Prosecutor Gordana Colic has confirmed the news. Jocic is accused of falsifying official documents and spending EUR 200mn over the company's budget from 2004 until 2006. Former public company head indicted Colic specified that if found guilty, Jocic could face a total of six years of prison on both charges. "Jocic and his defense attorneys have 15 days to object to the indictment," the prosecutor said. After this period, the court's council will decide on whether to make the charges legally valid. Daily Vecernje Novosti writes today that in addition to this, the court has received an anonymous criminal complaint against Jocic, accusing him of breaking the law while putting together a contract for the construction of the M19 road from Belgrade to the border with Bosnia. The complaint also says that he fixed a tender in favor of the Roads of Serbia project director's husband, and adds that he unlawfully employed personnel. According to this, other Jocic's alleged wrongdoings include an illegal transfer of EUR 200,000 to the account of Red Star FC. MUP is still checking these allegations, the daily said.
