The trial of the six former Herceg Bosna leaders was adjourned for a week. Hague this week: Five trials continue At the trial of the seven Bosnian Serb military and police officers charged with genocide and other crimes in Srebrenica and Zepa, the prosecution case will most likely continue in closed session with the examination of a witness testifying with full protective measures. Even his statement is under seal. At the trial of the six Serbian former political, military and police officials charged with crimes in Kosovo, General Nebojsa Pavkovic’s defense case is set to begin on Monday. In the period relevant for the indictment, Pavkovic was the commander of the 3rd Army of the Yugoslav Army (VJ). The prosecution continues its case at the trial of Rasim Delic, former commander of the Bosnian Army General Staff charged with crimes committed by the El Mujahid Detachment in Central Bosnia. New evidence will be called in the trial against the three former KLA leaders – Haradinaj, Balaj and Brahimaj – indicted for crimes against Serb, Albanian and Roma civilians in Kosovo in 1998. The prosecution case will continue in the Ljuboten case, at the trial of the former Macedonian minister Boshkoski and police commander Tarchulovski. The Tribunal’s working week will end on Friday afternoon with a status conference in the proceedings against the three Croatian generals charged with crimes committed against Serb civilians in the course of and after Operation Storm in the summer of 1995. Ante Gotovina will this time be joined in the dock by Ivan Cermak and Mladen Markac, because the Trial Chamber has suspended the decision granting them provisional release. The Tribunal will be closed on the UN Day, Wednesday, October 24.
