"Progress made" on Fiat exports to Eurasian Union

The Russian Federation has tabled to the Eurasian Commission a proposal to open negotiations with Serbia on unifying the trade regime, including duty-free, quota-based shipments of the cars to the Union, which consists of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, the ambassador told Politika in an interview.

"Representatives of Russia's biggest carmakers, including Avtovaz and Kamaz, are expected to come to Serbia in late March to work out the concrete logistics for shipments of Serbian-made auto parts, which would take the place of Turkish shipments," Chepurin added.

Serbian agricultural products are already quite present in Moscow but, over the longer term, they should gain a sizable share in Russian retail chains and also reach other Russian cities, he also said.
