"Banks stable, no recapitalization needed"

Jorgovanka Tabakovic has said that the Serbian banking system is solvent and stable, and that banks are not in need of recapitalization.

"Banks stable, no recapitalization needed"

The results have shown that no bank encompassed by the studies had the capital adequacy ratio below 12 percent, which is the regulatory minimum, Tabakovic said.

After the detailed checks, all banks met the minimum capital requirements.

“And our requirements are high,” the governor said.

With the analyses, the central bank aims to check the quality of assets of the largest part of the banking sector.
