Mali said at the presentation of the business results of Air Serbia that some formalities are to be done before the agreement is published on the website of the Serbian government.

Air Serbia Director General Dane Kondić said that in less than five months the Serbian air carrier, according to a study by Oxford Economics, made an impressive success, adding that during this year it will bring over USD 700 million to the Serbian economy, which is 1.5 percent of GDP.

In the previous five months, Air Serbia employed over 300 people, Kondić underlined at the Air Serbia office in Belgrade.

Over 150 crew members, over 40 pilots, around 90 check-in counter clerks and 20 call center operators have been employed, he said.

Air Serbia also opened 36 new jobs in its aircraft line maintenance service.

Kondić underlined that Air Serbia traffic network is constantly growing, so last year it had 27 destinations, while by the end of this one the number will rise to 38.

As of June, Air Serbia will introduce flights for Varna, Beirut and Warsaw, Kondić said, noting that late in 2013 Belgrade-Tel Aviv flight was introduced.

He underlined that Air Serbia connects the entire Balkan region, adding that in the previous five months Air Serbia established flights to Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Bucharest, Podgorica, Tivat, Skopje, Budapest and Sofia.

For the time being, flights to Kiev have been suspended due to the unstable political situation in Ukraine, he said.

“Today, it is clear that Air Serbia has started to make good results, not only through the increase of the number of employees in the company, but also due to its contribution to the overall environment for job creation,” Igor Mirović, acting minister of economy in the outgoing government, said.
