Serbian currency hits new all-time low

The Serbian dinar (RSD) has dropped by 0.1 percent or 13 paras on Tuesday, setting yet anothe another all-time low value against the euro (EUR). The official middle exchange rate this Tuesday is RSD 111.96 for one euro. Serbian currency hits new all-time low This comes despite the National Bank of Serbia (NSB) intervention worth EUR 20mn on Monday. Since the beginning of 2012, the central bank sold a total of EUR 748.5mn on the interbank foreign exchange market to ensure smooth functioning of the foreign exchange market. This year, the dinar hit its highest level against the single European currency on January 11 with the exchange rate at RSD 103.6922. The dinar will be 0.2 percent down on this time last month, and 11.3 percent down on the year. On Monday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 85.8202., reflecting an increase of 0.4 percent on its previous value, the NBS announced.
