Serbia-Sweden agreement on cooperation

Minister of Finance Diana Dragutinovic and Swedish Ambassador to Serbia Krister Bringeus on Tuesday signed an agreement on development cooperation. It covers the period until 2012, according to which the planned annual disbursement for Serbia amounts to EUR 12mn. Serbia-Sweden agreement on cooperation Under the agreement, Sweden will support programs and projects in the areas of democratic governance and human rights and environment, Dragutinovic said after the signing in Belgrade today. Under similar programs, Sweden has donated to Serbia a total of about EUR 106mn during the 2001-2009 period, said Dragutinovic, adding that the assistance will be disbursed through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), which will communicate directly with the beneficiaries. Bringeus underscored that Serbia's place is indeed in the European Union, which is why Sweden wishes to contribute to the achievement of this goal, adding that the implementation of reforms is equally important.
