The Monetary Board of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) decided to reduce the reference interest rate from 9.5 to nine percent. The decision came at the board's Tuesday session in Belgrade, and was made after reviewing the current economic climate, a statement from the central bank said. Reference interest rate cut to 9 pct. NBS Governor Radovan Jelasic will explain the reasons for the decision at a news conference later in the day, the statement added. The reference interest rate was reduced from 10 to 9.5 percent on December 29, 2009.
