Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic says that, a month from now, a plan will be complete to help those hardest hit by the economic crisis. “The government will form a task force tomorrow to hammer out the details of that plan,“ Cvetkovic told the Serbian-Macedonian business forum at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. PM on plans to help hardest-hit He said that the plan would cover mediation between the government and employees and employers who were failing to meet their commitments to their staff, as well as sanctions against those breaking the law, and one-off assistance to the most at-risk. The minister said that the government would adopt the plan “within a month“. He said that the Serbian government will "close the package of measures for fighting the crisis" with this, because the plan for economic stability was adopted earlier. The Serbian budget is now being filled slower than it was planned, but the public spending is in the planned framework, Cvetkovic said, adding that there are discussions being held with the International Monetary Fund regarding this issue as well. Cvetkovic said tht the plan for economic stability is giving results, which can be seen by the fact that savings by citizens is increasing, and that the exchange rate is stable, while the referential interest rate of the National Bank of Serbia is also decreasing. He said that he expects the decrease of the key interest rate to continue, which should encourage banks to place money into the industry.
