Representatives of the government, Sagem of France and the City of Nis signed a Protocol on cooperation on Friday. The document envisages the construction of a Sagem factory of electricity meters in this southern Serbian city. French Sagem to build plant in Nis The protocol was signed by Deputy Premier Bozidar Djelic, Sagem Managing Board President Patrick Sevian, and Nis Mayor Milos Simonovic. In the first year of cooperation, Sagem will invest EUR 1mn, and at least EUR 6mn more in equipping the plant over the next five years, Djelic said after the signing ceremony. Initially, around 250 workers will be employed in the plant, and Sagem plans the Nis works to be the center of production and distribution of electricity meters. Exports for Bulgaria, Greece, Russia, and countries of the former Soviet Union will be organized from Nis, Djelic said.
