Fiat says that doing business in Serbia will not only boost its own output, but also have benefits for Serbia’s industrial and technological development. “As a result of the support and will of the Serbian government, and above all, President Boris Tadic and his fierce determination to enable Serbia to make progress on its path towards the EU, as demonstrated by the recent signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA),"said Fiat Group CEO Sergio Marchionne. Fiat urges Serbia to follow European path "We have established a foundation for cooperation that will be mutually beneficial,” he added. Fiat has signed more than 30 new agreements with partners from various business sectors since February 2005, according to a statement from the Italian automotive company. The last such was the signing of a memorandum of understanding for taking over and helping develop the Zastava factory in Serbia. Marchionne was speaking at the University of Lausanne at Forum 100, an annual convention of 700 CEOs, businessmen, bankers and politicians from all over Europe.
