Several hundred workers at the Pancevo refinery blocked the delivery of oil derivatives between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. They are demanding a minimum 10 percent salary increase from NIS (the Serbian Oil Company) starting from January 1. Pancevo oil workers on strike According to Refinery Trade Union President Veljko Zunic, the employees are striking over threats to worker rights and interests. “In addition to pay rises, we want a signed pension plan to be included within the tender documentation, loans written off from 2007, a collective contract to be honored, additional incentives next year and a review and scrapping of harmful management contracts at the company,” said Zunic.
