The Teachers’ Union announced after talks last night that it would be continuing its strike. The Finance Ministry stated that an agreement had been reached with the union for the Christmas bonuses to be paid by the end of January 2008. “Union officials accepted the government’s Protocol proposal for 2008 which, for the first time, gives teachers benefits and privileges when it comes to housing,” the ministry stated. The teachers will hold a press conference this afternoon.
