Vučić: We follow things with anxiety, we know that it will be harder without Zukorlić
The commemoration of Muamer Zukorlić in the Assembly of Serbia is attended by Vučić.At the commemoration, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, told the leader of the Party of Justice and Reconciliation, Muamer Zukorlić, that there would be a big gap after him.
Justice and Reconciliation Party MP Jahja Fehratović thanked for the support, a minute of silence in the parliament last week on the occasion of Zukorlić's death, as well as all MPs who came to the funeral of the SPP president in Novi Pazar.
Vučić said that it seems to him that today, when we mourn for Zukorlić, we can say that he passed the tests in this world during his lifetime.
"For him, faith was not something that divides us, but a place of meeting, understanding and love, not hatred," he said.
Vučić said that in difficult times, burdened by the war, Zukorlić perfectly implemented the rule that says: a moment of patience in a moment of anger prevents 1.000 moments of regret.
He added that as a mufti and envoy, he dedicated his time to what is basic, namely schools, university and knowledge. "I want to tell you that the coming days will not be easy, we are following many things with anxiety and we know that it will be much harder for us without Muamer", he said.
Vučić mentioned that it is important that the commemoration is held in the Assembly of Serbia, so that Zukorlić would not be forgotten.
"In this plenum in the previous five years, Zukorlic continued his thought that only as people who believe in God can we contribute to the healing of society. We will follow up with his vision," Fehratovic said.
It should be reminded that the leader of the Party of Justice and Reconciliation and former mufti Muamer Zukorlić passed away suddenly on November 6 in Novi Pazar. He was buried a day later, on November 7, in his native village of Orlje in the municipality of Tutin.
After Zukorlić's sudden death, his son Usama Zukorlić took office as the first man of the Justice and Reconciliation Party, which was founded by Zukorlić himself. President Vucic also emphasized that for Zukorlic, faith was not something that divides us, but something that unites us.
"He dedicated himself to schools, knowledge, education. Serbia was his homeland, but he also considered Bosnia as his own. When I talked to him, I always understood well his desire to connect."
"After him, there is a void, but a great lesson, and that lesson is that we are what God made us to be. I want to say that Muamer Zukorlic is in the place where he should be."
"I want to say that Zukorlic is in the right place, along with the creator, the place reserved for the exceptional," he said. Vucic thanked his family.
"I don't know how much you knew about us, our relationship. I want to tell you that with the Serbs also, there's a great void after his departure, and we know that it will be much harder without Muamer," he said, adding that they discussed how to make it better for Serbs and Bosniaks.
Vučić and Djindjić were his associates
"Academician Zukorlić built his policy on the universal values of tolerance, coexistence, peace and progress, and he drew strength from faith in one god," he said. The "and-and" policy, instead of the "either-or" policy, Zukorlić's son described his father's path. "Partners, not by no means national-populists, are our guide by which we, his followers, will continue to walk," he said. As he stated, Zukorlic had only two leaders as political partners, the current president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the late Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic. "He was very glad that for the first time a political party from Sandzak signed a coalition agreement with the ruling party in which strategic projects for the development of Sandzak were defined," Usame Zukorlic pointed out. He stated that he is "so eager for these projects to be realized, and that his whole life is an endowment". "His wish was to return unity to the Islamic community, the same right as the Serbian Orthodox Church," Zukorlic pointed out. As he said, all the people of Sandzak want to fulfill that wish of Zukorlić and he asked for Vučić's help in that.
"The people of Sandzak loved him because he did them good. The mufti was the best husband, son, the mufti was the best father, I, Amir and Ahmet know that," he said, adding the names of Zukorlic's children.
"At the university, between two lectures during the prayer ceremony, he was just, but always with an outstretched hand of peace," Usame described his father.
He stated, addressing Vučić directly, that he had promised him that he would respect Bosniaks and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that he had shown that many times.
