Chief mufti of the Islamic Community in Serbia Muamer Zukorlic says that Muslims here are “nationally consolidated” for the first time since 1990. Zukorlic hosted a traditional Ramadan supper for political, social and public workers on Sunday evening. Mufti: Muslims nationally consolidated The basic message of the meeting was that Muslims, who were currently at a stage of building institutions, should not neglect to continue promoting family values. “Many things can be sacrificed, but not freedom, dignity and a sense of justice and fairness. Those are the foundations of survival. These things are given once by God and are taken away once,” said the mufti. Stressing that the authorities had “conducted aggression against the Islamic Community” two years ago, he said that Muslims today had been “significantly purified” and were “nationally consolidated” for the first time since the Nineties. “No matter the gossip stirred up by the regime, believe me: it’s like a temperature that doesn’t exceed 38°-- tedious, tiresome, but not dangerous,” said Zukorlic.
