Airstrikes in southern Beirut

Several airstrikes shook the southern suburbs of Beirut overnight, while multiple strikes were reported across southern Lebanon, according to the state news agency National News Agency.

Footage from Reuters shows a large cloud of smoke rising over Beirut’s southern suburbs, a stronghold of Hezbollah, which has been bombed in Israeli airstrikes.

Israel has issued evacuation warnings for much of southern Lebanon, parts of the capital Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley as it seeks to target Hezbollah across the country.

Starmer and Trump discuss the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and U.S. President Donald Trump spoke last night about developments in the Middle East and the war between the United States and Israel against Iran.

According to Sky News, the two leaders discussed the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz to prevent congestion in global shipping, which has “led to rising costs worldwide.”

“The Prime Minister also expressed condolences to U.S. service members who have lost their lives during the conflict. They agreed to remain in contact,” said a statement from 10 Downing Street.

Israeli airstrikes damage Red Crescent facilities in Tehran

The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported that the latest airstrikes on Tehran damaged one of its clinics and a humanitarian point.

“The airstrikes damaged a humanitarian point and a clinic of the Iranian Red Crescent Society in Tehran Province,” the Red Crescent said in a social media post.

Footage released online by the organization shows broken glass and damaged equipment scattered across the floor, according to Al Jazeera.

UAE: Iranian drones and issiles Intercepted; Flights in Dubai Diverted

The air defense of the United Arab Emirates is currently responding to incoming threats from Iranian missiles and drones, the country’s Ministry of Defense reported today.

In a post on social media, the Ministry stated that the sounds currently being heard are the result of missile and drone interceptions by air defense systems.

Airports in Dubai announced that some flights from the city’s international airport will be diverted after a drone attack caused a fire near a facility, according to Al Jazeera.
