NATO preparing for war? The American "floating fortress" arrived in Norway PHOTO
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has published a photo of the world's largest aircraft carrier sailing in Norwegian waters.
"This is something you don't see every day. The world's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, is sailing in the Oslofjord," NATO posted on its official account on X as a comment on the photo.
By the way, for the second night in a row, unidentified drones flew over the Danish sky, the Danish Ministry of Defense confirmed. This is the latest in a series of incidents that have been recorded over military bases this week.
The airport in Copenhagen was also temporarily closed due to the drones, and Denmark closed the airports to all civilian flights on Sunday, after unknown aircraft were spotted near several military facilities during the night, the country's Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen announced. He stated that the ban will last until Friday next week, reports Reuters.
Similar incidents were recorded in Norway, where unidentified aircraft were seen near military bases. Norwegian police continue to investigate the incidents at Orland Airport. In response to the increasingly frequent threats, NATO announced the strengthening of its mission in the Baltic Sea by sending an air defense frigate, as well as additional assets for monitoring and surveillance.
The alliance also launched the Eastern Guard mission this month to bolster the defenses of Europe's eastern flank in response to Russian drone incursions into Polish airspace. Russia has denied allegations that its drones and fighter jets violated the airspace of NATO countries.
