"One of the most beautiful features of friendship is that you understand someone and that someone understands you. Giving, receiving and the understanding that comes from that. And I'm not talking about two subjects and two political parties, I'm talking about something bigger. We managed in the last decade to build friendship between the two countries. Today, we have no greater friend than Hungary".
President of Serbia pointed out that we can always rely on Hungary, and that Hungary knows that it can always rely on Serbia.
"I want to thank the people from the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians, they didn't ask for complaints and everything that doesn't always have to be great".
"This is not about the relationship between two political subjects, political parties that exist in the political sky of Serbia, but about something much bigger. By building our friendship, we have succeeded in the past years, in the past decade and above all, in building friendship between two states and Serbia and the Serbs today have no greater friend in Europe than the state of Hungary and the Hungarian people," said Vučić.
That success, he emphasized, would not have been possible without the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians, and especially not without the man who led it until recently.
"To my dear friend and prematurely deceased Istvan Pastor. For those who know me, Istvan Pastor was the one who built bridges between us and Viktor Orbán. He introduced me to Viktor Orbán 15 years ago and that's when we started building our relationship. It was not an easy time for Istvan, nor for us," said Vučić and added:
"We have no more important friends than our Hungarian brothers. The values of ordinary people, people who value family and the future, who want to be on their own, to protect their name, will finally come to the fore. I congratulate you and wish you even better results in the future! Good luck to both Hungary and Serbia, we should protect our relations".
