Vučić: 880,000 people have visited Serbian pavilion, we expect it to exceed 1.1 million
Aleksandar Vučić stated that 880,000 people have visited the Serbian pavilion at the EXPO in Osaka so far and pointed out that this is an incredible result and about 500,000 more than expected, and that we could reach 1.1 million visitors by the end.
"Our numbers are really good. So, so far exactly 880,000 visitors have been in this pavilion. In Osaka, we expect to exceed 1,100,000, which is incredible and almost 500,000 more than expected. We expected 650,000, we will have over 1,100,000 every day. In a very small restaurant, we have about 2,000 people a day. The total our space is 840 square meters and is one of the most economical and beautifully decorated," Vučić said after visiting the Serbian pavilion as part of the celebration of the National Day of Serbia at the EXPO exhibition in Osaka.
He said that the Serbian pavilion was made by our architects.
"Jakša Nikodijević, who worked in Japan for many years, and now works in China and in Belgrade. And I am really proud of how it looks. I hope that we will succeed in creating something modern, innovative, different and attract a huge number of people for our EXPO 2027," said Vučić.
He thanked his Japanese friends for the wonderful welcome and, as he said, for their sacrifice, for noticing the success of the Serbian pavilion.
"And I think we did this well. We invested not a little for our conditions, but much less than everyone else, if I'm not mistaken. Regarding the ratio of price and space and everything else, we are probably among those who invested the least, and we didn't invest a little. So, I believe it was a good promotion for Serbia and I'm proud of everything we managed to do here in Osaka," emphasized Vučić.
Vučić said today at the official ceremony of the presentation of the National Day of Serbia at the EXPO exhibition in Osaka that Serbia is a bridge between East and West.
Vučić visited the Japan pavilion at the EXPO exhibition in Osaka
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited the Japan pavilion today, as part of the world exhibition EXPO 2025 in Osaka.
On the tour with Vučić were the wife of the president Tamara Vučić, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarević, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Bela Balint, Director of the Office for IT and European Justice Mihailo Jovanović and President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Čadež.
Japan is the host country, and their pavilion was designed by Nikken Sekkei. The pavilion carries the theme "Cycles of Life", which is symbolically represented through a circular form made of native Japanese wood.
The design incorporates traditional Japanese jointing techniques and a multi-layered wooden facade that filters light and air.
Visitors can move through a spiral sequence of spaces that reflect natural cycles and rhythms, aiming to evoke a sensory connection with Japan's cultural and ecological heritage.
Serbian Pavilion - "Floating Forest"
Serbian pavilion at this world exhibition is called "Floating Forest" and is inspired by the Great War Island, and the concept deals with the theme of sustainable living and recycling.
The pavilion is known for its living, green facade of 4,000 plants, which makes it unique at the exhibition, and is designed to reflect the innovation and potential of Serbia.
More than 95 percent of its materials are recyclable, and 80 percent can be reused in future projects.
The pavilion covers an area of 930 square meters and is located at the western entrance and Earth Square.
The interior of the pavilion represents the display and significance of the game, while playing with light to illustrate the effects of Tesla's inventions.
The pavilion is divided into several sections: Learn and Play, Play and Explore, Art of Games, Fair Play, Play, Engage and Connect, Playful Minds, Playful Future, as well as a section dedicated to the EXPO 2027 Belgrade exhibition.
Visitors from all over the world could learn about Serbian history, tradition and culture, from the Vinča period, Nemanjić dynasty and St. Sava to modern times and the greats of Serbian science - Tesla, Pupin and Milanković.
Traditional Serbian dishes also attract a lot of attention, and the Serbian restaurant was declared the best foreign restaurant at the world exhibition.
Serbia is the only country in the Western Balkans that has an independent pavilion, and it is also one of the most visited, with more than 800,000 people visiting it so far.
By the way, the world exhibition EXPO 2025 was officially opened on April 13 this year on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka, under the slogan "Designing the future for our planet".
The expectation is that through the central theme of the manifestation, it will present the best ways and space for a common reflection on the future of humanity - to present innovative solutions for the social, economic and environmental challenges that the world faces today and in the future, which will improve the quality of life through technology, sustainability, health and well-being.
