Vučić on Ratko Mladić's funeral: "The family will decide"

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that it is up to Ratko Mladić's family to decide how the general's funeral will be organized, adding that he had done everything necessary to ensure that the funeral would be conducted with dignity.

Asked by a reporter whether he would attend Mladić's funeral, Vučić said that he has an official visit by the President of Uzbekistan scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, which was arranged four months ago.

He added that he had spoken with the Mladić family and that it was up to them to decide how the funeral would be organized.

“I have an official visit scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, all day, by the President of Uzbekistan, which was arranged four months ago. Have I done everything necessary and everything possible to ensure that this takes place in a dignified, serious and responsible manner, and that the state acts accordingly? I have indeed done that,” Vučić said during his visit to Palić.
