"Russia Does Not Rule Out Military Aid to Iran"
Russia’s potential military or other assistance to Iran in its conflict with Israel will depend on the nature of Tehran's request, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

Peskov declined to answer directly whether Russia is prepared to supply Iran with air defense systems such as the S-300 or S-400.
“Everything depends on what our Iranian friends request,” Peskov said. “At the moment, talks are ongoing with the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Following the dramatic escalation, these discussions will allow both sides to exchange views, and Iran will present its perspective on the situation.”
His statement came in response to a question on whether Russia plans to support Iran militarily in its conflict with Israel, as reported by Kommersant.
Earlier that day, Reuters cited a senior official saying that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi was expected to deliver a letter from Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to Russian President Vladimir Putin, requesting support. The report did not specify the kind of support that was being sought or whether military assistance would be included.
Yuri Ushakov, an adviser to President Putin, confirmed that the Russian leader was scheduled to meet with the Iranian foreign minister that same day. Aragchi, who arrived in Moscow the day before, stated that consultations with Russia could be crucial in the current “dangerous circumstances, when the world order is effectively under threat.”
To recap, on June 13, Israel launched attacks on nuclear and military sites within Iran. On June 22, the United States joined the military campaign, conducting airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordo, and Isfahan.
Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkiyan has declared that Iran will respond to the aggression.
On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the actions of the United States.
