The Serbian club thus qualified 5-3 on aggregate, and will be the country's only representative in any European competition this football season.

Petar Škuletić scored twice for Partizan, while Julius Wobay scored for the home team. There was trouble on the pitch during added time, when Škuletić and two Neftci players were sent off.

There was also trouble in Baku ahead of the game, as the Partizan team bus came under attack from local hooligans.

A total of 48 teams have qualified for this season's Europa League, and will compete in 12 groups. Partizan has been drawn to Group C, and will play against Tottenham, Besiktas, and Asteras Tripoli.

Partizan finished last season as Serbia's vice champions, and will play in European competitions for the sixth time in the last ten seasons.
