“Hungary's government and national security cabinet has discussed the question of how the army could be used to help protect Hungary's border and the EU's border,” government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said.

According to him "parliament will debate next week whether to deploy the army."

A new wave of migrants, many of them refugees from Syria, crossed Hungary's border with Serbia on Tuesday, "walking through gaps" in Hungary's unfinished border fence in a bid to reach Western Europe, in what Reuters refers to as "Europe's worst refugee crisis since the Second World War."
