Dacic said he told his Italian colleague that screenings for all chapters in Serbia's EU membership negotiations have been completed - and that this means Serbia is "ready for the opening of chapters."
"This is now about political assessments of (EU) member states on whether there are political conditions to make that decision. Germany thinks that until chapter 35 related to Kosovo is opened, other chapters cannot be opened," Dacic said.
Gentiloni told the joint news conference that his country was "certain Serbia's European integration process should go a step further" and added that all conditions have been met for the European Commission (EC) to adopt a decision to open negotiating chapters in the months to come.
"We cannot delay the process because Serbia has taken on all the obligations and is working on their fulfillment," Gentiloni said, "and expressed his belief that all conditions have been met for the EC to adopt the decision to open the chapters in the months to come," Tanjug reported.
The Italian minister added that the two countries "share excellent political and economic relations" and announced that Italian President Sergio Matarella would visit Belgrade on May 25.
He noted that Serbian and Italian government should also hold a joint session soon.
"Italy is Serbia's first economic partner and a country that supports its EU path most," Gentiloni said, and added that "Italy also appreciates the work done by Belgrade within the dialogue with Pristina."
If you don't hold on to your past as well as the national pride then your country is just a little piece of shit somewhere nowhere.

Muscovite,
You mean to say, like Serbia.

The government won't institute the policy the people of serbia desperately want and are voting for. 63% according to b92 and ipsos recognize Kosovo independence. Serbs voted to kick the dss out parliament. They put Kosovo in the consitution and now the party is dead. Radical party is dead. Serbia athletes compete against Kosovo athletes. Dacic has said serbia constitution is dead letter on Kosovo. He also said "lies were told Kosovo is ours". Why won't Serbian government schedule for the referendum for Kosovo independence. Vucic supports Brussels too and likes to compare Kosovo to independent nations and its leaders to putin and merkel. Don't come here and say Serbia doesn't know Kosovo is a sovereign and independent nation when the people keep saying its independent and want it removed from the constituion.

Are you talking about the same national pride that Nazis used towards Jews?
Nationalism is not going to lead Serbia and any other country anywhere. The only solution is to have a real discussion between progressive Albanians and Serbs, and find a solution. Serbs want to visit their sacret churches in Kosovo, but they do have to pay the price for that, just like Albanians paid their price for independence by surviving the Milosevic oppression and the death of 12000 people.

Wars are not an option, since Europe and US does not want another exodus of refugees in their countries, especially EU countries.
Hopefully we can all move on, and make little more sacrificies for our new generations that deserve a better future.

Make a good point majority of population does not speak Serbian anyone 30 years or younger but lets say 25 and younger.
I have never ever herd one person explain how will Kosovo be integrated in Serbia not one would love to hear it logical explanation.

Because the only thing Serbia can do is slow down the development of the two countries. Serbia is going nowhere without normalizing relations with Kosovo, which can be translated to RECOGNITION. I don't know why an average Serbian would think that Kosovo would settle for anything less than Recognition. And, what would Serbia benefit from all of this Non-Recognition of Kosovo. Both countries will be stuck like they have been for the last 16 years, and still be treated as second class citizens of Europe.
The new generations of Kosovo do not speak Serbian language at all, there is nothing Serbian in Kosovo anymore. It is just a stupid game that will keep the whole region stuck in the same place as in the last 2 decades.

EU integration depends on BLACKMAIL!Im curious, as the EU obviously supports illegal succession, why doesn't the EU also support Donbas or crimea?
(Hypocrisy!!, 31 March 2015 15:11)
Yes, but how can an average Serbian understand this as they still think that they can do whatever they want with Kosovo. Politicans are moving slowly, but they are definitely growing some balls to admit to the Serbian people that Kosovo is long gone.
