According to this, they are all Turkish nationals and were brought to the hospital in Smederevska Palanka.
The accident happened at around 04:30 CET on Wednesday near the Velika Plana exit, with the cars traveling in the direction of Belgrade. The victims were aged three and ten, and held Dutch passports.
It is unclear from the reports this morning what caused the deadly collision. The highway was blocked and a long line of vehicles formed as the police investigated the scene, but traffic has returned to normal since.
The 1st Police car arrived after aprox 30 min, the 2nd Police car and Ambulance arrived LATE after aprox. 1 hour. Unfortunatelly there were some cars (serbian plates)using the emergency lane in order to leave highway on nearby exit!!! while the long line of cars was waiting on both lanes.
