  2. @Deda

A bipolar foreign policy will not work this time, mainly because the region is firmly fixed towards a EU path, and if voters believe that their country is being left out due to their politicians acting bipolar, they will just vote for politicians that have a pro-Western strategy. And yes, you could totally have a situation where even Kosovo and Albania catch up and join EU while Serbia is left behind. At that point itís much more likely that Serbian voters will vote for pro-EU parties than join China, Russia, or some other fantasy like that.

If you call the European Union in its current embodiment and incarnation "a heap of winners", what with its constant, never-ending bickering, backstabbing, real-politik, cynicism, hypocrisy, corruption, nepotism, islamic fundamentalism, right-wing extremism, cold war paranoia, political correctness and opacity, spinelessness, sycophancy, cluelessness, structural bias against South and East Europe and abject lack of any discernible cultural or historical identity, tradition, mission and vision, then yes...perhaps remaining on the "heap of losers" might not be the worst thing that could happen to the Serbian people. Mind you, we have been called worse in 1914 and 1941 and yet, we are still here, and have every intention of staying indefinitely.

Serbian foreign policy is not a matter of "spiting" anyone. As I explained before, this was something imposed on us against our will and preference. But then, I would not expect our EU "friends" to understand something so simple, so easily. It requires a certain amount of intellectual and cerebral weight-lifting, doesn't it?

    (Decisions, 27 February 2018 15:55)

    --

You don't understand, do you? This is not now, nor has it ever been a "transitional" Serbian strategy. This is an alpha and omega of our national survival, a durable, permanent historical fixture we have been stuck with ever since we moved to the Balkans circa 600 AD. The bipolar Serbian foreign policy is NOT a choice, certainly not a POPULAR choice. It is a sheer necessity of national survival, a dire predicament placed on us by (a) our beloved Anglosaxon "allies" (b) our eternal Holy Roman Empire adversaries (c) The Russians (d) The OTTOMANS (not the Turks) and (e) Wall Street. Virtually every one of our 30 or so rulers since the early Middle Ages had to contend with competing spheres of influence over Serbia. Every time our foreign policy tilts into imbalance (real or imagined) between these five behemoths, threats are being waged against Serbs. Our people know this. They are aware of the fact that we have no other choice. See, Serbs are not as dumb as our European friends would have you believe.

As for EU accepting Albania and Kosovo before it accepts Serbia, I would find this entertaining to watch. The very next morning, 100% of the Serbian population would vote in droves to join China, and EU would end up with an open and unguarded 1200-mile border with the PRC. Wanna see this happen, Europe? Sure. Go ahead, punks. Make our day. And year. And millennium.

Thatís what Iím saying, itís a transitional strategy, but when time comes youíll have to explain to your own voters why you pursued EU so adamantly, and all of a sudden thereís no actual accession happening. At that point other countries in the region will have started to join, and Serbian political actors that want EU accession, even at the cost of losing Kosovo, will start winning elections as well. The West will make sure to fund their campaigns much more than Russia can fund the anti-EU parties.

"First of, if you donít like EU, why vote for political parties that pursue EU accession agendas?"

    - Because we may not love EU but we certainly love the EU's accession funds. Why do you think Bulgarians and Romanians joined EU? Because they loved being molested by the alien empire 2,000 miles away?

"Also, if you like EU standards in political/judicial sphere, then how can you be pro-Russian?"

    - For exactly the same reason Germans and Dutch are pro-Russian when it comes to buying the Russian natural gas. It is called "national interest".

    "The two donít mix."

Says who? Vladimir Putin has more admirers in Western Europe than Merkel, May, Macron, Pope, Erdogan and Osama Bin Ladin COMBINED. The French and British communists were the biggest Stalinists in the universe. The Russian democracy is no different than Swedish or Belgian - it's just that it is much more effective and much less sclerotic. Russia has been an integral part of the West since at least the early 1600s. Just ask Hitler.

"So either vote for pro-Russian parties that are against joining EU, or ditch Russia and join the EU."

    - Nope. We ain't gonna. We will continue doing our thing to confuse our E(U)nemies. 15. Now that Yugoslavia fell apart, Serbia is small and landlocked. Serbia's value to Russia, aside from claiming at least some friends, is relatively low. One thing is that Serbia is planning to become a EU member, and when that happens, it would have the ability to block some EU decisions, although this is not as easy as it may seem (such obstructionism comes at a cost). Serbia also has a number of fiercely pro-Russian Serbian nationalists, some of whom went as far as to fight in Syria with Russian troops. EU is not stupid to let Serbia to joy in the union without making some agreements.

    1) Serbia immediately should stop relationship with Russia.

2)Serbia must recognize Kosovo as independent state.

If Serbia agrees they absolutely become part of EU.

Net salary/ wage itís about 250 euro (per month)

A lot of people earn minimum wage, which is less than EUR 200 per MONTH. And the prices are at least similar with West EU countries.

As a Danish proverb states: ďThe old lie has more friends than the new truth.Ē

Why is Serbia such a rich country compared with Romania ?

    - The careful management of the economy

    - devolved democracy makes people responsible for their fate and not state dependent

    - Make people responsible for themselves and not reliant on the government

    - Instead money is spent on infrastructure, medical facilities, education, etc., which benefit everybody, not the aristocracy/ oligarchy, etc.

    - One of the key factors is the location

Romania it was always much better than in official statistics in terms of minimum salary , average salary , average pension . Romania is poor but is better than in statistics in special the ones until 2018

In Romania for minimum salary we even don`t know the difference betwen gross and net because nobody pay under gross

People from Serbia can`t compare because Serbia not have gdp per capita + no gdp grow and they think that everything is as in Serbia

I don`t know why but Serbia is in a horrible situacion where people are used as slaves worse than in Romania even Bulgaria is more progressive than Serbia

I might be crazy with me things , but Serbia is a country beated by God , if you live in Serbia you have no hope for a better . In Serbia if there is an indexaction of 10% even for salaries of doctors people think is to much and they are amazed and impressed and go and kiss Vucic on forehead

The real problem is due to Brexit. There are very few paying into the EU fund and many with their hands out. Brussels talks about paying 1% extra into the fund, but that is not going to fix things. The Dutch have already said they will not pay the extra.

I only use Croatia as an example not to criticize. It pays 1 billion euros into the fund and takes out 3 billion. That is the problem.

Dates like 2025 are BS. Itís the EU hoping that by that date the economy will improve in Europe and change for the better. For those that live in fantasy land. Italy, France, Belgium and others have huge economic problems since youth unemployment is 1 in 3 young people.
