PM comments on controversy involving SPS official

Vucic's comments came when reporters asked about Ruzic's apology, issued over a photograph the SPS official posted, and then removed from his Facebook account. In it, Ruzic is seen with Igor Mikic, a man known for insulting Vucic during a live broadcast of the Serbia-Albania football match in Belgrade last year.

According to the Tanjug agency, Vucic also said that "a political story is being made out of all that," while "many are now laughing, smiling, and mocking" - but that "nobody can laugh at the results that have been achieved in Serbia's development and progress."

Ruzic previously apologized to SNS and SPS voters, and the leaders of the two parties, Vucic and Dacic, for, as he said, "the wrong impression that had been left in the public" when he posted the photograph.

Asked about Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev's comment last week about the EU asking Serbia to end its free trade agreement with Russia, Vucic said Serbia was "on the European road and wants good relations with the Russian Federation."

"We'll see what will happen when we arrive at the end of the negotiations," he said, while attending the opening of a transformer station in the Belgrade neighborhood of Mirijevo.

Asked about the announced acquisition of arms from Russia, Vucic stated he "could not say anything precisely, because it all depends on how much money we've got."

"But, I find it interesting that everyone it talking about Serbia and the weapons, while everyone keeps silent as if nothing has been happening in the surroundings, that panzer howitzers are being bought so they are as strong as possible, while we, I guess, want to be as weak as possible," he remarked, and added:

"It is our duty to secure the safety of our citizens, and will do that."
