Serbia’s counter-suit against Croatia cannot salvage national pride, but could help return some self-esteem, says foreign policy expert Ljubodrag Stojadinovic. Stojadinovic told B92 that the counter-suit could be a step leading to the mutual understanding and assumption of responsibility for crimes committed on both sides. He said that these things would no longer be tolerated and that this kind of balance could be a “sort of a remedy at this point in relations between Belgrade and Zagreb, which are slowly acquiring all the hallmarks of a cold war,” he surmised.
