Parliament is today debating two draft laws on writing off interest and debts for social and health insurance. However, MPs began the session by citing breaches of the Code of Procedure. Parliament debating taxation laws MPs are currently debating the retraction of the pension increase proposal and the reasons for this decision, as well as exchanging accusations. Under the draft law on the agenda, companies, contractors and citizens would be able to begin paying their health contributions on a regular basis. It has been proposed to freeze interest on debts accrued up to 2008 until 2012, and from January 1, 2009, to begin paying off earlier and current debts on a regular basis. The draft law pertains to levies on ten kinds of tax, including company income tax, transfer of absolute rights, inheritance and gifts, and turnover tax. The law envisions partial and full cancellation of this interest depending on when the basic debts is paid off. Last night, parliament ended its debate on the budget review.
